Japanese Meiji (late 19thC) bronze okimono of a standing Holy Kannon Bodhisattva in flowing robes, signed Takasaki. Height 24.5cm, weight 1.15kg.
 
Excellent condition and nice patina.
 
Kannon, the bodhisattva of compassion, is one of the most popular and frequently depicted deities in Japanese Buddhism. He grants deliverance from suffering to anyone who calls upon his name.
