Oil painting on board signed by the artist in the lower left corner. Finished with a distressed silver-leaf frame and off white slip.
Everett Watson Mellor was a landscape painter working in both watercolour and oil. Born in 1878 (d.1965), he was the son of well renowned landscape artist, William Mellor. Everett developed an artistic style that was incredibly similar to that of his father’s having been taught by him and with whom his works are sometimes confused.
Much like his father, Everett W. Mellor often made strong composition choices for his pieces, taking inspiration from the landscapes of North Wales, the North East of England and Scotland.
