Delighful Georgian Silver Cream Jug by Samuel & Edward Davenport , London 1803

Description

This beautiful George III silver cream jug is dated London 1803 and bears the marks of Samuel & Edward Davenport. Of oval bellied form, it is finely bright-engraved with ribbon-tied floral swags and prick-dot motifs surrounding a vacant reserve. Reeded scroll handle and gilt interior. Good set of marks.

Hallmarks:

SD over ED for Samuel & Edward Davenport.

London Assay mark.

Lion Passant.

Date letter "H" for 1803.

Duty Mark.

Height up to handle: 10 cm / 4 inches.

Length from spout to handle: 10cm / 4 inches.
