ANTIQUE #SA1074920

A Late 19th Century Anglo-indian Carved Sandalwood Casket, Mysore/canara, Southern India

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: Jeckyll & Co

Extrordinarily detailed carving by ''gudigar'' craftsmen, carved in high and low relief with concentric bands of stylised lotus flowers.

Well presented throughout. There is a key, engraved with a flowerhead and marked with number 7, unfortunately this does not fit the lock and is likely to be for a tea caddy held elsewhere in the household.
