Antique English Sterling Silver Heart Shaped Box - Edwardian

Description

A pretty heart shaped box made from English sterling silver, with all-over repousse decoration. The centre of the lid has a small vacant domed cartouche which could of course be engraved by your silversmith with initials or a date.

The hinged lid fits well and the hinge working perfectly, once opened a good clean gilded interior.

The full hallmark can be found for Birmingham 1909, making this a true Edwardian example. The makers initials W.D. are also present for the silversmith, William Devenport.

Excellent condition, measuring 1 3/4" x 1 7/8" x 1" tall. Weighs 27.1 grams / 0.87 Troy Ounces.
