Description

A highly decorative pair of early wine coasters, early Victorian, around 1850. Made from old Sheffield plate, their shaped bodies are enhanced with highly ornate foliate scrolls and shell motifs.

They are both marked with the hand sign, this particular hallmark dates this pair between 1849-1855.

Excellent condition with minor wear commensurate with age. The rim diameter measures 7 1/2" and stand 2 1/8" tall.
