Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Produced between approximately 1815 and 1848 under Robert Bloor, this era of Derby porcelain is noted for its polychrome enamelling, gold leaf gilding, and expansive production of figures depicting classical and allegorical subjects.

These figures were cast from porcelain paste, hand-painted with mineral-based enamel pigments, and finished with overglaze gold leaf gilding before undergoing multiple kiln firings.

Authentic pieces frequently feature printed or painted factory marks such as a red circular mark reading Bloor Derby, alongside Rococo scrollwork bases and detailed hand-painted drapery.

Mythological ceramic figures function effectively as central accents on a mantelpiece, displayed within glazed cabinets, or arranged alongside decorative books on a sideboard.

Dust gently using a soft, dry camel-hair brush, avoiding liquid cleaners, submersion in water, or friction on gilded areas to prevent rubbing off overglaze decoration.
