In A Nutshell Antiques and Interiors has dated this piece to the 1920s.
It screws into a mount that could then sit atop a tripod. It also comes with an additional brass lens.
It comes in its original fitted box which has a lovely aged patina. The box is in good order and displays well. Below the lid is a paper label from W.F.Stanley which has the same serial number as on the level itself.
It is in good condition and displays well. The theodolite lenses are undamaged and they focus well with a good range and clarity. There are some small knocks and surface marks and some tarnishing to the brass but nothing detrimental.
