T Condliff of Liverpool, Circa 1860.

Description

A very good Victorian mahogany wall clock, by the famous Liverpool clockmaker Thomas Condliff son and successor to the eminent clockmaker James Condliff.

The 12" convex circular white dial with Roman chapter ring, signed to the dial centre T Condliff Liverpool.

The fine quality single fusee, 8 day movement with shouldered plates and very fine gear work.

Anchor escapement with passing strike on the hour and half hour on a curled gong.

Fine blued steel spade hands.

The finely figured mahogany case with original carved ears and typical Condliff octagonal surround, inlaid with ebony and boxwood stringing.

Cast brass bezel with access to the case from two side doors and lower door to the curved base.

2 year mechanical guarantee.
