The Fancy Fox has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
Overlaid onto these are very intricate, multi-layered vignettes, one with a dragon or sea serpent and a crab amongst the waves and the other with a complex arrangement of flowers and leaves. The walls have a fishscale type pattern and the top is applied with a vacant cartouche. A small plaque with maker's initial MK sits at the top left corner of the dragon side, name unidentified but based in Canton. c.1870.

It measures 8.3cm (3 1/4") tall and 5.4cm (2 1/8") wide and 1.3cm (1/2") deep. It weighs 33g / 1.1ozt.
In excellent condition; I've inspected very carefully and there are only a very few individual strands of the background coils that have a split and there are no losses I can see.
