Antique silver Longines pocket watch, 1884.

The watch has a stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is signed with the Longines name, and it has the Longines wings logo on the regulator. The movement is also stamped Gold Medal Paris 1878.

The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover which has a little unevenness.

The watch is larger than a standard 50mm diameter pocket watch, this one is 55mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside both of the case backs for London 1884 with a sponsor’s mark for Arthur Baume. Baume & Co were importers of watches to the UK and the Commonwealth.

The front and sides of the case are in good condition, just a couple of small pin prick sized marks. The hinged case back has some unevenness.

The glass lens is in lovely condition.

The signed dial has a faint hairline starting between 9 and 10 and running towards the centre, but it is faint. There is also a chip on the edge of the dial but this is mostly hidden by the bezel when closed. Pin set hands.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.
