Oxford Lavender "Attar" Scent Bottle, Circa 1850

Description

This is a very pretty gilt glass attar perfume bottle. These type of scent bottles are also known as an Oxford Lavender or Throwaway , as they were sold containing a sample of perfume and were intended to be thrown away after use. The four faceted sides sliced-cut with thumb-cut patterns and heightened with simple gilt decorations. Fitted with a penny drop gilt glass stopper. These were very rudimentary glass scent bottles, it makes them all the more charming.

Dimensions:

Length: 18cm / 7 inches

Width: 1.5cm x 1.5cm / 0.3 inches x 0.3 inches.

Condition:

Very good.

No damage to glass.
