Rare Georgian Silver "Flower Basket" Pin Cushion & Thimble by Joseph Taylor, Circa 1800.

Description

This exquisite and very unusual Georgian silver pin cushion and integrated filigree thimble bears the marks of the renowned Joseph Taylor and was made circa 1800. These early pin cushions are quite scarce hence very desirable and this is a very rare design. The silver basket engraved with flowers and fitted with a rope-twist articulated handle. The base with basket-weave decorations. The original blue velvet cushion with a central well housing the original and rather delightful filigree silver thimble.

IT for Joseph Taylor, under the handle.

Height: 4cm / 1.4 inches.

Width: 2.5cm / 1 inch.

Depth: 2 cm / 0.6 inch.
