Original Antique Late Victorian Polished Brass Fire Iron Companion Set & Rests .
Beautiful Brass Fireplace Accessories.
We bring to you this very rare excellent condition late Victorian C1880 fine quality and elegant fire place complete companion set made from Brass. This ornate set consists of a fully Brass fire poker, large fireplace tongs, a large shovel and Brass tool rests/fire dogs. Each tool features ornate twisted turned handles with the tongs having extra details such as a twisted frame to double honey dipper turnings and twist acorn turned pivots either side. The shovel has at some point been repaired at the connecting rivets (silver soldered), however, this is a historic repair which has been done to a very high standard, the shovel is strong and can be used as intended.
The very ornate rests are ideal for holding the tools so as not to place hot or dirty tools on or against the fire surround or flooring. The rests feature honey dipper style turnings with trophy shaped columns either side of the reeded supports.
This lovely original complete fire companion set is ideal for any period property with an open fireplace or for purely display or decoration. We have sympathetically restored this item by carefully cleaning and highly polishing to bring out the beautiful brass shine.
Please note; This item is in very good condition for its age but will obviously have dents and imperfections here and there due to the age of the item. However, we feel that this adds to the charm and authenticity of the item with it being antique.
