Antique Hampden Watch Co Lakeside full hunter pocket watch.

The watch has an 11-jewel stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is fully signed and it has the name Lakeside, a trade mark first used by the Hampden Watch Co in April 1880. The serial number on the movement dates this particular watch back to 1881.

The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch is larger than a standard 50mm diameter pocket watch at 57mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The heavy case is in a coin silver and was made by Fahys. Coin silver is usually 90 percent pure silver and 10 percent copper. It has the smallest amount of silver in a metal that can legally be marketed as silver in the United States.

Nice contrasting rose gold hinges and tabs.

The front of the watch has a cartouche with the name of a previous owner although it is now difficult to read as it has worn with age. Overall, the case is in good condition with general light marking and some very slight unevenness in places.

The winding crown pushes in to open the front cover.

Inside, there is a glass lens which is in good condition.

The dial is signed Hampden Watch Co. It has lever set hands, a sunken subsidiary dial and outer minute markers.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.
