Set of 4 Titchmarsh & Goodwin Ladder Back Dining Chairs.

A quality set of traditional rush seated chairs from a British manufacturer.

This is an excellent condition set of 4 Oak ladder back and rush seated dining chairs in very good condition made around the early 20th century C1930 by the renowned British manufacturer Titchmarsh & Goodwin. These chairs are of the upmost quality and are made in a very traditional way using native timbers such as Ash, Oak and Beech in their construction at their Ipswich based works. Very similar chairs are still in production by this manufacturer today and cost over £500 per chair new. These chairs feature their lovely original antiqued dark oak colour and finish which we have just enhanced by carefully cleaning and waxing. They also feature turned hoof front legs with a turned front stretcher rail with beautifully simulated wear to the front rails and intentional dents and bumps mimicking an antique. The chairs are very comfortable having a rush seat which are all in excellent condition with virtually no wear, they are from from a smoke and pet free home and have been meticulously cleaned ready for their new home. This set of chairs are of a very high quality and are made from all solid Oak with a very solid design and construction which will last a lifetime whilst not being too heavy. The chairs are solid with no joint movement or creaks and have been checked over in our workshop. The rush seats are built into the frames in the traditional way which shows their quality and craftsmanship.
