Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A Canterbury is a portable tiered rack developed in the late 18th and early 19th centuries, designed specifically to store printed sheet music near a piano or instrument.

High-quality Regency examples were crafted from dark hardwoods such as rosewood or mahogany, often features fine veneer work, turned wooden posts, and fitted brass castors.

Authentic period pieces feature hand-cut dovetail joinery in the drawer construction, original brass castor fittings, period-appropriate carving details, and natural wear consistent with aged timber.

While originally intended for sheet music, a Canterbury serves as an elegant magazine or art book holder alongside a sofa, or as unique vinyl record storage in a contemporary music corner.

Dust regularly using a soft lint-free cloth and apply high-grade beeswax sparingly along the grain to protect the timber finish, keeping the piece away from direct sunlight and heat.
