Puckerings has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
The box is a squeeze action type, opened by squeezing the sides for the lid to pop open, the lid works perfectly and snaps shut.
The interior is beautifully gold washed or gilded. There are good clear hallmarks for Birmingham 1893, so a true Victorian example. The makers initials are also present for the well renowned and highly prized George Unite.
Excellent condition measuring 3 1/2" x 2 7/8".
