Artisan Antiques has dated this piece to the Georgian era.
The teapot features a melon-shaped design that blends seamlessly with a spectacularly detailed hand-chased sea spume section on top.

The top lid matches the melon-shaped body with a floral finial on top. The foot presents additional embellishing that forms a wave-like design, embracing the nautical theme to its fullest, perhaps also symbolising the plentiful tea that could be held within.

Its spout and handles are equally regal extending outwards with acanthus leaf decorations which complete the overall look and contribute to a three-dimensional design. Such skilful craftsmanship and silver artistry combined make for a piece that is delightful to view from all angles.

The interior of the teapot is fully gilded (gold on top of solid silver) which adds a layer of protection from the silver tarnishing and remains clean/leak-free, allowing it to also be used practically - a fabulous way to enjoy an opulent afternoon tea by yourself or with guests in an artistic and historically elegant setting.

As a single teapot, this piece also serves as a versatile piece of interior decor. Perfect amongst other fine antiques or as a standalone highlighting piece in a contemporary setting. With a touch of creativity we imagine this may just be the perfect piece to elevate the ambience of your interior. Overall a very impressive and delightful teapot with some of the finest ornate Georgian craftsmanship on display.

The teapot is hallmarked with full English marks on the base.
