Description

This is a very elegant Victorian silver and guilloche enamel letter opener or paper knife. The handle with dual colourguilloche enamel within a silver border. The back plain. Mounted with a decorative ferrule and a fully hallmarked solid silver blade. It is very tactile and pleasing to use and is eye-catching and rather unusual.

Hallmarks:

JG for John Gilbert.

Birmingham Assay mark.

Lion Passant.

Duty Mark.

Date letters "b" for 1876.

Condition:

Excellent.
