This is a fine quality antique English Victorian fireside mahogany leather chair, which has been newly upholstered in a deep-buttoned full grain red leather, circa 1860 in excellent condition.
The mahogany leather chair boasts generous proportions with a stunning quality moulded solid mahogany frame, with a reclining back, upholstered scroll end carved arms and deep button back, set above a shaped moulded escalloped front rail on carved turned front legs and splayed legs to the rear, terminating on its original brass castors. The quality of the timber and carvings to this chair frame is second to none compared to similar chairs on the market today. The mahogany leather chair has been newly upholstered to a professional standard in top quality full grain red leather incorporating traditional fillings. The seat has been re-webbed and re-stuffed; therefore, it is extremely comfortable to sit on. The Victorian chair shows exceptional craftsmanship with the deep button upholstery to the back. The upholstery is finished with hand-tacked brass studwork. This mahogany leather chair is extremely comfortable, has a fantastic original patination & colour and is in excellent overall condition.

... to a professional standard with a top quality full-grain red leather; therefore, the upholstery is in excellent condition and is free from any holes, damage or rips. The seat has been re-webbed and re-stuffed; therefore, it is extremely comfortable to sit on. The underside of the seat is finished with traditional hessian backing. The arms, frame and seat are completely solid and show no signs of movement. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges of the mahogany frame. The mahogany frame has been cleaned and French polished by hand in our workshop to revive the wonderful colour and patination of the timer. The original brass castors are in good working condition. This mahogany leather chair is solid in joint and ready to use.
