In A Nutshell Antiques and Interiors has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
The hinged lid opens to reveal a series of small shaped dividers providing storage for letters or stationery. The lid is lined in a purple satin with some holders for pens or pencils.
The box is excellent quality and in good condition for its age. It has been lightly cleaned and polished and it displays very well inside and out. There are some minor signs of age and use, some marks and knocks and a few old repairs but no major damages. It does not comes with a key.
