A stunning original antique French gilt bronze Cartel wall clock.
Below the dial is a long trellis panel which allows a glimpse of the pendulum swinging behind. The modelling is crisp and well detailed with a lovely original gild.
The large dial is porcelain enamel on copper, it has an outside minute ring and original fretted gilt brass hands. The bezel is fitted with convex glass.
The French movement is by Vincenti and has the makers mark on the backplate. It is of high quality and is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker. Pendulum is a replacement. It runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. Condition of the case is excellent, the original gilding is beautifully clean and bright with hardly any wear or discolouration. The dial is also in very good condition, some chipping around both winding holes and some hairlining near the '45'.
