A lovely mirror pair of antique Japanese Meiji period Satsuma vases. They date to the early 20th century. They are hand-painted with flowers with gilt highlights together with a view of a distant mountain with temple buildings in the foreground. The rim is surrounded with painted butterflies. Painted Japanese script mark to base in red and gold.
Condition
In very good antique condition, just the usual all over crazing that is typical of Satsuma Ware.
