John Rennie McKenzie Houston. R.S.W. (1856 - 1932)
Scottish artist best known for painting figurative subjects and interiors. Studied and lived in Glasgow. In 1891 he was living in Dennistoun, in 1898 in Cambuslang and in 1907 in Rutherglen.

He became a member of the Royal Scottish Watercolour Society (R.S.W.) in 1889 and exhibited there 36 times. He was also a member of the Royal Scottish Academy (R.S.A), exhibiting there 3 times. In addition he exhibited his work at the Dowdeswell Galleries and 45 times at the Glasgow Institute of the Fine Arts.
He died in Edinburgh in 1932.
