A large Worcester porcelain chestnut basket with shaped rim and pierced walls with grooved detail to the outside and individual daisy type flowers applied to the intersections Rope twist handles at either end leading to highly ornate terminals of flowering vines spreading over the ends of the basket. All picked out in underglaze blue and the centre printed with the pine cone pattern and am intricate frieze around the inside rim. Hatched crescent mark to the base, c.1770.
It measures 20cm (7 7/8'') long by 19cm (7 1/2'') wide and 9.5cm (3 3/4'') high.
In excellent condition with no damage or restoration, including no damage or losses to any of the applied decoration. There is a short firing line part way across one intersection at one end. Minimal handling wear.
