Description

A decorative French Victorian boulle red tortoise shell and engraved brass mantel clock in the Louis XV style with inlaid scrolling foliate design throughout. The case has an inlaid floor and back door which can be seen through the glass door which is mounted with cherubs. The clock has good quality scrolling bronze gilt ormolu mounts and moulds and is adorned with putti holding a torch to the top.

The clock has a 5 inch cartouche dial with white enamel Roman numerals and a French eight day duration movement which strikes the hours and half hours on a bell.

The movement back plate is stamped with the makers name-
