A nicely made mid 19thc rosewood page turner.....what really makes this rather special is the impressive coat of arms on the handle...it shows two keys with a sword going through the centre of them, two chevrons in between flowers....the sword is usually a symbol of military honour, power and freedom.....the key usually signifies knowledge....the chevrons represent the foot of the house, derived from the french word ''chevron'' meaning rafter and given to someone who has participated in some notable building enterprise and finally the flowers represent hope and joy....we can all use some of that..! The page turner is in excellent condition with a very good natural colour.English.
