Aaron Nejad Carpets and Rugs has dated this Antique Persian Isfahan Rug to the 1910s.
Even the spandrels and the flowers around the medallion have an impressionistic character, as does the main border. It's a charming composition where once again we see the talent of village weavers in Persia who are able to execute complex designs either from memory or by copying other rugs. The colour combination of this rug is subtle and very harmonious with only a handful of colours, Cherished over the generations, this piece has survived in relatively good condition with a velvety pile showing minimal signs of wear. Professionally cleaned.
