This is an antique silver plated egg boiler or coddler by Mappin & Webb. Their makers mark is stamped underneath. Standing on three large realistic claw feet with chicken legs rising to leaves. This egg shaped boiler retains its original burner and internal egg holder. The top is finely engraved with scrolls and wheels with a ribbon & bow above a circular vacant cartouche. Figural swan finial. c.1880 British made. This has been resilvered.
