Mytton Antiques - Jerrard Nares has dated this piece to the Regency era.
The body of the box with straight sides, finished with an ogee foot rim. The box decorated to simulate gilt lacquer work, the lid showing a pheasant amongst flowers and foliage. The scene surrounded by further flowers, and rococo scrolls, the decoration repeated to all sides of the body.
Date circa 1820.
