Description

An unusually large, deep sided Worcester punch bowl decorated inside and out in the ever desirable "Old Japan Fan" pattern c.1770. Pseudo Chinese marks to the base.

It measures 22.8cm, (9") wide and 10.5cm (4 1/8") high.

In excellent condition with no damage, repair or restoration and minimal handling wear, just a bit of scratching to the mon in the centre. There is a small firing fault to the rim where the glaze hasn't taken and there have been a few small kiln dust blow outs, mainly to the centre and and in some places under the gilt on the rim (the gilding itself is fine and not rubbed, just a few small losses from firing).
