Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Late Victorian diamond brooches, produced around the 1890s, frequently feature nature-inspired designs such as flowers, stars, and rosettes. They typically utilise silver-topped gold settings to enhance the white appearance of the diamonds while maintaining structural strength.

Jewellers of this era commonly combined silver settings with 9ct or 15ct yellow gold backings. The stones featured are primarily old mine cut or old European cut diamonds, hand-faceted with high crowns and open culets.

Authentic nineteenth-century pieces display hand-cut diamonds with irregular facets, dual-metal construction showing natural surface oxidisation, and period-correct fittings such as C-clasps or extended pin stems.

An antique diamond brooch can be pinned to the lapel of a tailored blazer, fastened at the neckline of a silk blouse, secured to a velvet ribbon as a choker, or worn in updo hairstyles for formal occasions.

Clean gently using lukewarm water, mild soap, and a soft-bristled brush, avoiding harsh chemicals or ultrasonic cleaners. Store the piece individually in a lined jewellery box to prevent diamonds from scratching other items.
