Large early 20th century Meiji period antique Japanese charger. This unusual shallow bowl charger is hand-painted with flying birds over flowers and leaves with water in the background and a duck with a chick. Coloured in browns, blues and yellows.
The back with underglaze blue flowers and foliage to the rim and central iron red Japanese hand-painted script mark.
A very striking piece.
