Description

Enchanting alabaster bust depicting a pretty young maiden wearing a gilded ormolu robe, she wears a scarf covering her hair, with a few curls peeking out from the sides.

Signed on verso: G. V. Vaerenbergh

Gustave Van Vaerenbergh (1873 - 1927) was active/lived in Belgium. A sculptor, he became well known for his female busts in early art nouveau style.
