Description: – A simply delightful French cobalt blue-ground porcelain demitasse cup and saucer. The cup is painted with a Watteauesque scene of a young man playing a mandolin. The saucer is exquisitely painted with a lakeside scene. Each of the scenes are bordered with fine and ornate C Scrolls in raised gilding. The ornate high handle terminates with a mask.
Size & Weight: – The cup is 7.5cm tall to the tip of the high handle & 5.5cm across the rim, the deep saucer is 10.5cm across. The total weight is 90g.
Condition: – Both pieces are in excellent cabinet condition without any chips, cracks, hairlines, crazing or losses. The gilding is in good order throughout. The saucer looks to have staining to the reverse, this is original to the porcelain during the painting/gilding process and not damage. See images

History & Marks:– The cup and saucer have early 20th Century faux Sevres marks.
