A spectacular antique Victorian opal diamond cluster ring from the late 19th Century boasting a natural teardrop opal cabochon claw set in the centre weighing approx. 5.5 carats. It displays a medley of green and blue hues with bright red and orange flashes that shimmer like a burning fire within.
Opal is the birthstone of October. Their magic has been revered throughout history, desired for their enchanting rainbow of colours that flow and dance across the surface of the stone, evoking the natural beauty of planet Earth or the aurora borealis.
The opal is bordered by sparkling old cushion cut diamonds with a spiky, crown motif on top. They have superb SI1 clarity – H/I colour and total approx. 2.5ct with the largest stone weighing 0.40ct at the top.
The teardrop gallery is modelled in 14ct gold and perfectly mimics the shape of the principal stone. It’s a striking antique statement ring, very distinct with a dazzling collection of natural stones on show.
We recommend you insure for £7,500. We can provide a written Valuation on completion of the sale.
