Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Art Deco wardrobes of the 1930s are recognised by their bold geometric shapes, stepped architectural outlines, and heavy reliance on decorative timber veneers such as burr maple, walnut, and amboyna. Designers during this era emphasized clean, streamlined contours paired with polished metal or bakelite hardware.

Cabinet makers during the Art Deco period utilised solid hardwood frames overlaid with exotic, highly figured veneers, including birdseye maple, walnut, and mahogany. Hardware typically featured brass, chrome plating, or early plastics such as bakelite.

Furniture produced by Harry and Lou Epstein often features cloud-shaped profiles, stepped breakfront forms, and rich burr veneers. Authentic pieces display precise book-matching of veneers, solid timber construction underneath, and characteristic curved or vertical handle designs.

A large Art Deco wardrobe functions as a focal statement piece in modern bedrooms. Setting light-toned burr maple against neutral wall palettes, plain linen textiles, or simple minimalist metalwork allows the wood grain and geometric silhouette to stand out without overcrowding the space.

Burr veneer surfaces should be kept away from direct heat sources and sunlight to prevent drying, cracking, or lifting. Regular dusting with a soft microfiber cloth and periodic applications of high-grade beeswax will preserve the finish and grain clarity.
