Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Edwardian jewellery from around 1910 is recognised for light, lace-like metalwork, often incorporating garland and geometric motifs. Craftsmen frequently set diamonds, pearls, and sapphires in platinum or gold to create elegant, delicate designs.

Brooches of this period commonly feature 18ct yellow gold, platinum, old European-cut diamonds, and natural pearls. Artisans often employed calibre-cut gemstones set closely together to create uninterrupted lines of vibrant colour within openwork mountings.

Authentic period pieces display period-appropriate gemstone cuts, such as hand-faceted diamonds, alongside fine millegrain detailing and custom hand-fitted mountings. Hallmarks and makers marks consistent with early 1900s assay standards also aid identification.

An antique brooch can be styled on the lapel of a tailored blazer, attached to a silk scarf, or pinned at the waistline of a gown. It can also be worn attached to a velvet neck ribbon or converted into a pendant.

Avoid exposing natural pearls and precious gemstones to harsh chemicals, perfumes, or ultrasonic cleaners. Clean gently using a dry, soft cloth, and store the item in a velvet-lined box separate from other jewellery to prevent scratching.
