Description: – A very fine art deco period blue glass vase decorated in the Schwåbisch Gmünd silver studios of Friedrich Deusch. The bell shaped vase has a very intricate & complex Persian style design in silver overlay. The glass is possibly by Jean Beck, and the silver is stamped 1000/1000 to the lower rim of the base & the glass has the Deusch Inventory number 292 painted in red on the base.
Size & Weight: – the size is 12cm tall & 11cm across the rim and weighs 185g.
Condition: – The vase is in Excellent condition with no damages or restoration to the glass. There are no losses to the silver overlay. As one would expect on a silver vase of this age, there are some micro surface scratches to the silver following 90 year of love, care and attention.
Photography:– The glass vase and silver are in excellent condition the slight colour discolouration and light spots seen on the body of the vase are made in the photography and does not represent any changes to the body colour in reality.
History & Marks:– The silver is stamped 1000/1000 to the lower rim of the base & the glass has the Deusch Inventory number 292 painted in red on the base.
Friedrich Deusch established a silver overlay workshop in 1895 (Schwäbisch Gmünd ) Germany. Deusch exhibited silver overlay works at the 1907 World Exposition (EXPO) and was awarded a Silver Medal. He gained Gold at the 1913 World Exposition in Gent / Belgium for his sumptuous Silver Overlay Porcelain and glass.
