Description: – A very fine quality Fraureuth porcelain demitasse cup and saucer exquisitely decorated in the Classical manner with ornate raised gilding upon a deep red and cream ground..
 
Size & Weight: – The cup is 5cm tall & 4.5cm across the rim and the saucer is 9.5cm across, the whole weighs 85g
 
Condition: – The cup & saucer are in cabinet condition without any chips cracks, losses or restoration. The gilding is equally in good order.
 
Photography: – Please look at the images as they show a true status of this delightful demitasse. There are some light reflections seen following the photography and are not discolourations to the glaze.
 
History & Marks:– The porcelain marks used on this demitasse cup & saucer are from the 1915 to 1926 period. The Fraureuth porcelain factory operated from 1866 until its bankruptcy in 1926. Unfortunately, little is known about its activities. It was one of the largest factories in Germany. It produced very high-quality wares.
 
1839 Georg Bruno Foedisch was born on 09.07.1839 in Crimmitschau
 
1865 Bruno Foedisch and his cousin Arved von Römer found the porcelain factory Fraureuth
 
1867 The production of dishes begins with 60 workers and two stoves
 
1879 First prize at the World''s Fair in Sidney (Australia) for porcelain in cobalt blue and gold
 
1885 Fraureuth employs 600 workers and employees
 
1889 ''Association of German Porcelain Mainters'' places its seat in Fraureuth
 
1890 Conversion into a public limited company with a share capital of 1.7 million Reichsmarks
 
1918 Establishment of an art and luxury porcelain department. In order to be able to meet the demand, branch workshops are being set up in Dresden and Lichte.
