Gillers Antiques Ltd has dated this Copeland Coloured Parian Figure to the 1870s.

The figure depicts a poorly dressed girl in an ill-fitting dress, carrying a basket of wilting flowers.
The statue rests on a marbelised base that is impressed with "COPELAND" to reverse and "ADVERSITY" to the front.

Sculpted by Owen Hale, dating to c. 1870.

Base dimensions 14.6 x 14.6 x cm
Weight 2832 g
Condition: Right arm restored from above the elbow to the finger tips; hairline crack to base around hem of dress. Overpainting of the left hand. The restoration has been carried out to a very high professional standard and can only be seen on closer inspection. Otherwise the figurine is in excellent antique condition with excellent colour preservation.
