This well proportioned George III breakfront side cabinet is a testament to the craftsmanship of the late 18th century. Crafted from the finest plum pudding mahogany veneers, known for its rich, deep hues and distinctive patterns, this cabinet exudes elegance and sophistication. The cabinet’s rising breakfront top is accentuated by a wide satinwood and rosewood cross banding, adding a luxurious contrast to the mahogany.
The facade of the cabinet is an artful display of craftsmanship, featuring three false drawers and three false cupboard doors, which maintain the piece’s sleek aesthetic while providing a clever disguise for its true function. Each front panel is adorned with satinwood ovals, encircled by a charming border of simulated pearls, giving the impression of refined opulence.
