Fabulous 19th-century Russian Silver & Enamel Frame with Embroidered Scene—possibly Ivan Gubkin Silversmith. Wonderful detail and a great size. measuring 26.5cm x 21.5cm.
Wooden-backed whicj is screwed in place, has a very intricate design across the entire frame and decorated with turquoise, red, white and green enamels, Some wear is consistent with age, but it is in remarkably good condition. Hallmarked for Moscow and makers mark, which I have been told could be for Ivan Gubkin. The embroidery is a work of art by itself. The frame is quite specail. Easel backed.
