This antique silver bowl and cream jug each have an incurved segmented form accented with applied stemmed cherry blossom designs, accented with enamel decoration.
The impressive sugar bowl is fitted with an impressive cinquefoil shaped push fit cover, ornamented with a continuation of stemmed blossom designs and surmounted with a cast and applied finial realistically modelled in the form of a butterfly, incorporating further multi-coloured enamel decoration.

Each component of thissilver jug and bowl set is fitted with silver bamboo stalk handles, accented with leaf designs.
Such examples of enamel decorated teaware are rare to the market, and becoming increasingly difficult to locate in this fine condition.

We are grateful to Adrien von Ferscht for his help in identifying this exceptional antique piece.
