19th Century German Glazed Porcelain Figurine of a Shepherdess by Conta & Boehme

19th century
Description

This exquisite shepherdess, boasting a lustrous finish, is adorned with meticulous detail, exemplifying the superb craftsmanship of Conta & Boehme's early figurines. Transporting you back to the 1800s, its lifelike features offer a glimpse into a bygone era.

The porcelain legacy of John Tobias Albert's factory in Possneck took root in 1802, culminating in a successful venture after years of experimentation. In 1814, Albrecht (Albert) Wilhelm Ernst Comte and Christian Gottlieb Böhme acquired the factory, ushering in an era of fine porcelain production under the name Comte and Böhme until its closure in 1931.

Esteemed by discerning collectors, the early creations of this factory are highly sought after, particularly by enthusiasts in the United States and Germany.

Very good antique condition. Tiny chip on the index finger; small chip on edge of scarf; faint firing line on the dress. Otherwise it is in excellent antique condition, devoid of any visible signs of damage or restoration.
