Description

Erik Wahlbergson (1808-1865): an attractive Oil Painting on canvas, depicting a young girl with curly blonde hair, blowing bubbles from a saucer of liquid soap in her lap. She wears a blue and white skirt and white blouse and is clearly entranced by a large bubble that floats above her. Good ornate gilded frame; signed middle right, and with an indistinct date 18**. 62 x 54cms including the frame.

(** Erik Wahlbergson wass born in 1808. He studied at the Academy of Art in Stockholm and later in Düsseldorf. He was mainly a portrait painter and copyist, his most famous work being a portrait of Oscar I, king of Sweden and Norway, painted in 1844. )
