A beautifully proportioned early 18th-century English Queen Anne chest of drawers in richly figured burr and walnut, circa 1710. The veneered and feather-banded top mirrors the burr-figured drawer fronts, bordered with fine feather banding. The sides are walnut, cross-banded vertically to front and rear; drawer linings are of oak, consistent with period craftsmanship.
All brass escutcheons are original. Three handles have been precision-cast to match the surviving originals, maintaining visual and historical integrity. Later bun feet, faithful in form, provide stability without compromising authenticity.
The chest exhibits a warm, honeyed patina, the product of centuries of waxing, and represents the restrained elegance of Queen Anne furniture at its best.
Comparable examples of similar age and burr-figured quality are currently offered by leading dealers at £8,000–£12,000. This piece, presented in exceptional condition and proportion, represents outstanding value.
