Masons Antiques has dated this French Empire Lion Clock to the 1850s.
There is a large, beautifully cast, gilded lion (possibly associated) to the top, giving a charmingly appealing overall work of art. It has a silvered dial with black Roman numerals and finely cut hands.

The 8 day movement, with silk suspension, strikes the half-hour and the hour on a bell, with a clear, crisp tone. It has just been fully overhauled by our BHI registered horologist and carries our usual 12mths full parts and labour guarantee.
A really lovely, one off clock.
