This very stylish solid sterling silver coffee pot was designed by the Danish designer Henning Koppel in 1952 and the design won many prizes including the Gold Medal at the Triennial in Milan in 1954. Koppel designed for Georg Jensen from 1946 and the company produced many award winning pieces. This coffee pot #1017 is part of a Henning Koppel tea and coffee set from 1952.
The coffee pot is in excellent condition and the beautifully shaped handle has been made from a South American hardwood called Guaiacum which is renowned for its strength and density. The domed lid fits perfectly and the coffee pot is clearly stamped for Georg Jensen.
